Thanks to Jason Garrattley for his his superb cardboard collage of Blonde On Blonde. Check out Jason's KIRBY-VISION a showcase for creative work inspired by the art and concepts of JACK KIRBY and his blog Between Clark and Hilldale.
Mrs Coop and myself love this LP and it's been a regular visitor to both the record deck and CD player over the years on vinyl, CD and now expanded CD. I've done this cover using watercolours, Magic Markers and felt tip pens
As a riposte to Mondo's VU sleeve, here is my remix of The Dickies speed punk version of the classic kids TV series theme. No computer wizardry involved here, just black card, chalk, charcoal, marker pen and a banana, 25cm sq. Anyone else think of a nana based sleeve?
My uber-blogging neighbour Mondo gave me a heads up that this was coming, so here is his take on Andy Warhol's iconic sleeve for The Velvet's debut. Mondo created this with a banana from his kitchen and a little computer wizardry. Check out his fantastic Planet Mondo
Acrylic paint on cartridge paper, 17cm sq One of the LPs I played to death when I was growing up. No text or faces necessary on this one to make it recognisable. Painted this one this afternoon, turned out OK, scan is not brilliant unfortunately.
As a starter, here is a mosaic version I did of The Clash's "London Calling" a few years ago. It is 1m sq. and is porcelain mosaic on a hardboard frame.
